WHATMarcia Preston earned B.A. and M.A. degrees from University of Central
Oklahoma, taught in public high schools for more than a decade, and worked for a time as PR and publications director for the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City. She freelanced for a wide variety of magazines for many years, and edited and published ByLine, a trade magazine for aspiring writers. Her interests include gardening, OU football and Lepidoptera.  Janey Merry, a wife, mother, and author, will be the speaker. She writes picture books, young adult, and romance. She’ll talk about her writing journey and how she used Kickstart to fund the launch of her first children’s book, Ready, Set, Sloth! Its companion book, Ready, Set, Color!, a whimsical activity book, became available February 15. For our February program, we will recognize the winners of the 2021 Galaxy contest by hearing the winning entries being read aloud. We will start with the first-place winners, then continue with as many other entries as time will allow. If you won any place, please bring your entries and prepare to be applauded! Our 2021 Contest Chair Hamp McCool will emcee the program. This program is free and open to the public, but because of the Covid surge, we will be on Zoom only.

Tres Savage has served as NonDoc.com's Editor-in-Chief since the publication launched in September 2015. He holds a journalism degree from the University of Oklahoma and covered two sessions of the Oklahoma Legislature for eCapitol.net before working in health care for six years. Now a nonprofit publication, NonDoc was recently named "Best Website" in Oklahoma by the Society of Professional Journalists. NonDoc’s mission is to provide quality journalism with context that enables civic involvement.
