Bill Bernhardt will talk about how to develop characters everyone will love. He’s the author of more than fifty books, including the Daniel Pike legal thriller series, as well as the bestselling Ben Kincaid series, and many stand-alone works. He founded the Red Sneaker Writers Center to mentor aspiring writers with a bi-weekly newsletter and podcast. He also hosts the annual WriterCon, in addition to holding small group writing retreats. Bernhardt has received the Southern Writers Guild’s Gold Medal Award, the Royden B. Davis Distinguished Author Award and the H. Louise Cobb Distinguished author award, given "in recognition of an outstanding body of work influencing the way we understand ourselves and the American society.’" In his spare time, Bernhardt enjoys reading, digging for dinosaurs, trekking though the Himalayas, paragliding, and jumping out of an airplane at 10,000 feet. In 2013, he became a Jeopardy! champion.
