Deborah Chester is the internationally published author of 44 books, a few articles, and short stories. Deborah has written in the genres of fantasy, science fiction, nonfiction, historical romance, Regency romance, horror, young adult, and westerns. Her pseudonyms include Lewis Kern, Sean Dalton, C. Aubrey Hall, and Jay D. Blakeney.

In 1981, her young adult novel The Sign of the Owl was named to the American Library Association’s Best Books for Young Adults list. She was the 1985 Oklahoma Writer of the Year and was inducted into the Oklahoma Professional Writing Hall of Fame in 1994. She was honored by the Writers Hall of Fame of America in 2004.

Her nonfiction titles on writing technique include The Fantasy Fiction Formula, Fiction Formula Plotting, and Fiction Formula Plotting Practice. Her western novel Justice at Percha Creek is available from Amazon.com, and most of her fantasy and science fiction titles are available in digital format.

Deborah teaches Professional Writing in Gaylord College at the University of Oklahoma where she is the John Crain Presidential Professor.
